On Saturday 9th July 2011, delegates from across the UK as well as Holland, Denmark, Germany and the US attended Hizb ut-Tahrir’s London conference titled ‘Khilafah: Our vision for the ummah’. As people rise up across the Muslim world and demand an end to tyranny, poverty and oppression, the conference outlined how the Islamic Khilafah system’s economic, social and political solutions are the only means to provide real and fundamental change and a better future for people in the Muslim world.

Speakers Dr Imran Waheed, Dr Abdul Wahid, Taji Mustafa, Reza Pankhurst – members of Hizb ut-Tahrir – outlined how the Khilafah system offers a new political vision for the Muslim world where the ruler is elected by the people to look after the affairs of the many not the few. How it is a state that is truly independent and sovereign, unlike our current regimes that serve the interests of foreign powers like the UK and the US. Other guests included Professor Hasan Konakata from Japan, prominent Muslim personalities, scholars and others.

Speakers outlined a new economic thinking for the Muslim world including Islamic policies that enable the utilisation of the billions looted from the public, utilisation of the vast oil and mineral wealth for the people, abolition of indirect taxes, and taxation of wealth rather than income which therefore leaves people with more spending power and helps stimulate the economy.

Dr Imran Waheed spoke about Hizb ut-Tahrir’s work for Khilafah in Pakistan and how the current military and political leadership have sold out the country to America; supported the killing of their own citizens in drone strikes and failed to tackle the load shedding, poverty and other problems confronting Pakistan. He outlined Hizb ut-Tahrir’s vision for Pakistan and how the Islamic Khilafah system will end subservience to any foreign power and address the problems facing the people by applying Islamic economic and political vision outlined in the conference. He said that while some accuse Hizb ut-Tahrir of trying to infiltrate the Pakistan army, why do they not complain about America’s infiltration of the leadership of the Pakistan army?

Speakers highlighted how Western governments who supported Mubarak, Ben Ali, Al-Saud and other tyrants for decades now claim to support those rising up against these same tyrants. They warned how this is an attempt to create a new Western friendly leadership that helps to maintain the West’s political and economic influence in the Muslim world.

Finally, they urged Muslims across the world to support the work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah in the Muslim world as the real change that is needed in the wake of the noble uprisings of the Muslim ummah.

Hu t is showing a right direction to ummah.islam will b revived to its prestine glory only through the method shown and laid down by the Messenger of Allah (saw ).and i do believe that the by working through purely islamic priciples we will achieve our goal for here and hereafter.
but Hu T .must work on the grass root level 24*7 basis.it must not confine it self to conferences and seminars only.HuT must be careful of the evil elements and not allow any body to use it for personal gains and hijack its agenda.unity in the leadership will be the key in the path of struggle.
may Hu T reach the every masjid, every house ,every heart.
