HTB Supports 'What is Sharia?' Seminar


Friday 22nd of Febuary 2008, King's Cross, in the climate of tension over the Sharia debate, Members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in association with The Muslim Community Representatives of Camden organised the "What is Sharia?" Seminar, attended by over 80 people from a broad section of the community; local residents (Muslim and non-Muslim), local Church representatives & leaders, Councillors, Camden Council staff, the local Mosque Chairman, committee members of different Mosques, community organisation members, and local young people - both students & professionals alike.

A packed hall listened attentively to a discussion about the future of Muslims in Europe following the rise of anti-Islamic sentiment in countries like Denmark
  Taji Mustafa was invited to deliver a lecture as part of a distinguished panel after Walthamstow arrests.
         
  
'Dr Imran Waheed, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, was invited as a penelist of community leaders to address a packed meeting of the Muslim community in Birmingham. The meeting followed days of media speculation following the arrest of nine local Muslim men in relation to allegations of terrorism.   Jamal Harwood talks about faith in a secular society to an audience of Christians and Muslims and Slough.
