It appears that today’s Muslim states whether "democracies" or monarchies, they all treat politics as their private family chattels, to be handed over to the survivors of the family. Contrast this with Islam, where there is no engraved principle of hereditary rule (although it happened at times in the past Caliphates). One example of this is the 2nd Caliph Umar (RA) when he died, he forbade his son from succeeding his position as a Caliph. So Muslims must look to the future. A future Islamic state will not have tribal-style hereditary rule engraved. It will have genuine representative rule where leaders will be elected on meritocratic basis – not based on blood connections. We had British Raaj- it failed, we had democracy- it failed, we had dictatorship- it failed, and the American Raaj is doomed to failure. The Muslims have tried everything including the so called Islamic Alliance of MMA who are no better then Nawaz Sharif & Musharraf.
