Assalamualaikkum,

To add to your article, even there were Khilafat struggles in southern India especially in Kerala, later it was termed as communal riots. below blog will give some details.

The Jatts helped Bin Qasim

Salaam.

Very good article, however I think you miss some points. The only reason why Mohamed Bin Qasim's conquest was successful was for the fact that the Jatt sub tribes such as (Cheema tribe) helped Mohammed Bin Qasim. The Jatt sub tribes were oppressed in Punjab by Raja who was a Hindu and majority of the Jatt sub tribes were the followers of Buddhism and opposed and drove out the preaches of Hinduism, The Jat made strong alliances with the Muslim Arabs and hailed the conquest of Muhammad bin Qasim an Arab general. Muhammad bin Qasim defeated the Hindu Raja Dahir in alliance with Jats and other Buddhist Rajas. On his arrival at the town of Brahmanabad between six and sixteen thousand men died in the ensuing battle. Buddhists and the Jat, Meds and Bhutto tribes hailed him as a rescuer from tyranny at the hands of Chach of Alor and his kin (regarded as usurpers of the Rai Dynasty).

Arabian chronicler Ahmad Ibn Yahya al-Baladhuri, recorded the local sentiments upon Qasims recall:
"People of Hind wept for Qasim and preserved his likeness at Karaj"

In fact he (bin Qasim) was hailed as deliverer by several sections of local population. The position of the Buddhists in Sind seeking support from outside can be read in the Chach Nama.

"Mohammad Bin Qasim's work was facilitated by the treachery of certain Buddhist priests and renegade chiefs who deserted their sovereign and joined the invader. With the assistance of some of these traitors, Mohammad crossed the vast sheet of water separating his army from that of Dahir and gave battle to the ruler near Raor (712 A.D.). Dahir was defeated and killed" - Historical accounts documented in the , Chach Nama according to Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, Hemchandra Raychaudhuri, & Kalikinkar Datta.

Here is a good article:

aswk allhamdulilla this is mind blowing, all through my life i use to think of how come muslims in india are deattched to the ummah but i now realise it was a brain drain in two generation which took so much time for me and muslims living in india to understand the concept of caliphate.Muslim living in india could be a great advantage for this cause, its holds 2nd largest muslim population in the world.Muslim scholars in india should preach and inculcate the benefit and significance of calilphate to the people.

May allah(swt) helps the muslim to bring back the caliphate. - himayat, india Hyderabad

the times we live in now seem a long way away from the times of the Khilafah...as muslims we all need to work for the re-establishment of this (even if it is too difficult to do it together)...after reading that brilliant article i wonder how certain muslims do not see the 'working to bring khilafah back' as important...and rather see voting for labour as a more 'appropriate' way forward given the times...inshallah Allah (swt) guide all the muslims to the righteous path and once Allah (swt) sees the muslims have struggled, strived and worked hard enough, then inshallah Khilafah (this great blessing from Allah) will be awarded the muslims. - mahmood khan

shukran for this mind opening article. i think that it is necissity to distribute this in urdu/begali/sylhetti outside K mosques and make it a focus in discussions and seminars, nothing could be closer to reality of most of the Uk muslim population. if can be given the permission to do this ican then present the translation to you for accuracy. - zardad khan

MashaAllah.........such an amazing article although i had some evidences of how the khalifah in damascus, baghdad and istanbul considered india as one of the wilayah of khilafah...but this has really gone into detail and given a totally comprehensive knowledge from muslim and non-muslim sources of how the correspondence with the khilafah and india existed at all times...articles like these should be shown to the seculars, moderates and nationalist of pakistan and india who use the struggle of their co-ideologues to marginalise the struggle of the individuals mentioned above in struggling and fighting the clutches of the colonialist rather then the indian mutiny and gandhi's struggles...May Allah Bless the brother who has conveyed this knowledge to us....Masalam.... - Suleiman Al Qanuni
