“A Muslim woman living in Britain today is constantly under pressure to re-evaluate who she is. She is being asked to question the relevance of Sharia in her life. Are her Islamic views intolerant? Are her values not compatible with ensuring a cohesive society? It is important for her to know why these challenges exist and how to deal with them.”

Speaker: Nazreen Nawaz

“Simply knowing why these challenges exist does not mean we are able to combat them. Sometimes it is hard to know what Islam says on these matters. We may find it hard to express to others the Islamic arguments. This talk will help to enable today’sMuslim woman to engage in a productive discussion on debates surrounding the woman’s position in Islam. AsMuslim women we need to be at the forefront of portraying the truth about these issues.”
