 On Sunday 14th September, Hizb ut Tahrir Britain held a community iftar in the Asian centre in Orford road, Walthamstow. The event was attended by over 150 members of the community of varying ages and backgrounds, both men and women.

Our lands are blessed with oil wealth, human resources, and rich agricultural lands. There is the potential for our countries to take the lead in the fight against poverty in the world. But there is no political will or leadership in the regimes of the Muslim world to protect or help the ordinary people, never mind lead such a global struggle.
The Prophet (SAW) said in a hadith narrated by Abu Dawud “The people are partners in three things: water, green pastures and fire (energy)”.

 Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain’s new paper “ The Truth about the Oil Crisis” was launched on 17 July 2008. In Britain consumers face a 40% increase in fuel bills. Oil prices surpass record levels yet a barrel of oil costs less than a barrel of Coca Cola.
