Abu Idrees: Response to Chris
Chris raised some interesting points, one being: the drug problem in Iran, here he misses a fundamental point: There is no Khilafah (Caliphate) existent in the world today, hence there is no state which relects the Islamic form of ruling even though many have populations that are Muslims by belief, which does not in turn equal Islamic State since the Constitution(s) and Cannon(s) are not based upon Islam, this is the first point.

Secondly: The Caliphate is the Islamic form of governance, it imparts a completely different culture to its citizens then Democracy. Ideals such as Freedom are born from Democracy, which in turn lead to a culture of iresponsibilty, such an example is that people often break rules (Over population in prisons US/ Uk and the rise of Crime, statistics are clear in this regard), those that do not generally do so out of fear of imprisonment/ financial penalties and the consequences upon future, problems such as Drugs (since it was cited) are examples of a wide spread problem, born out of a care free culture rampant through different aspects of society. The Islamic Culture builds a responible/ accuntable culture not only to fellow human beings but to God who is ever seeing and watching. So the Muslim tries to the best of his/ her ability to be mindful of Gods commands wether seen or unseen by the masses.
That is a fundamental difference in viewpoint.
I am sure Chris may comeback with examples of Muslims breaking laws here or in the Islamic world, I say to this: Islam has been absent from ruling for more then 80 years, Western culture has touched almost all the nations, therefore when human beings are influenced it is only natural to find their behaviour reflective of the dominant ideals and values, similar to how Non-Muslims living under Islam were influenced by the rules, as an example in the Ottoman Khilafah some non Muslims brought cases to the judges and showed in-depth knowledge of Islamic rules, even though they wer not Mulims by belief.

Finally, Chris mentions: '...do you really believe a medieval religion can better it?

I say to Chris: Islam is 1400 years old as a Religion, its influence disappeared less then one century ago, its guiding principles give room to understand/ derive and judge the most complex humans issues to this very day, science made discoveries found within its text(s) independant from any bias or issues of belief, the modern world owes its achievements due to the great discoveries the Islamic civilisation made in areas of medicine, astronomy, sciene and mathematics to mention but a few, yet Chris chooses to describe it as medieval? The irony is Chris believes Democracy is the framework to solve problems as if this was a modern day phenomenon, in actual fact Chris, Democracy is about 2000 years older then Islam, so maybe Islam is the modern day realistic way to solve problems and the medieval Philosophy of the Greeks is the wrong framework to be looking at for solutions: one century of World Wars, Poverty on unpresidented scale, Holocaust, supporting of dictorial regimes when it suited Interests, killing innnocent people to upturn elections and the countless problems we witness are the by product of medieval democracy.

Finally as mentioned by some who commented before me: No Muslim and especially not those working for Khilafah are looking at UK for its establishment, it is clear Muslims are looking at the Islamic World.

Thank you and I hope you give consideration to my points.

Ma sha' Allah, brother Taji was very clear in his replies and explanation regarding the duty of Muslims to establish Khilafah in the Muslim world, and how it is possible to unify our countries.

It is unfortunate that Chris chooses to miss all of that and write about no Khilafah for Britain! Taji never said that the group wants Khilafah in the UK, but the fact is we see more and more support for its establishment in the Muslim world, hence the recent Khilafah conferences in Indonesia, Lebanon, Palestine, Malaysia etc

What a pathetic diatribe of wishful thinking! When you come back down from the clouds, perhaps a measure of reality may take hold. Do you really think the 'common people' as you put it will forgo hundreds of years of struggle for the franchise, freedom (without a fatwa being issued) of speech, Welfare State, Trade Unions etc. for the sake of an alien religion based on a metaphysical premise? If 'the common peoples' perception of Islam is constructed by TV (including Islamic inspired mass murder) , then lay out your 'constitution' for all to see. Yes, the West pays a price for freedom in drugs (why didn't you mention Islamic Irans drug problem?) and alcohol abuse etc. But we must tackle these problems within our democratic system. Millions have fought and died for this country's institutions - do you really believe a medieval religion can better it? or more to the point, British people en-masse actually entertaing it? DREAM ON!
