Cameron’s obsession for ban on Hizb ut-Tahrir shows world what freedom and democracy really mean! Print E-mail

cameron2.jpgLondon UK, 20th January 2010– As British Prime Minister Gordon Brown made a statement on Counter-Terrorism in Parliament today, the Conservative Party leader David Cameron once again called for the banning of Hizb ut-Tahrir demanding “will he now go ahead and ban Hizb ut-Tahrir”.

Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said “Cameron has repeated his call for a ban in another populist attempt at electioneering, after his last attack on Hizb ut-Tahrir backfired spectacularly and his election campaign launch flopped.”

"We say to Cameron and his like: Ban Hizb ut-Tahrir if you dare to show the world the cowards you really are. Instead of accepting the challenge of debating ideas you decide to ban an Islamic political party with over 50 years of non-violent political activism. People around the world will see that all the lofty talk about ‘freedom, democracy and pluralism’ are hollow words.

"In truth they really fear that our ideas have taken hold amongst Muslims around the world, because of our uncompromising criticism of Western foreign policy in Muslim countries, and relentless call to replace tyranny and dictatorship in the Muslim world with an Islamic Caliphate that will bring security, stability, authority to the people, and accountability and justice - all enshrined in the Shariah.

“Cameron’s ‘security’ strategy seems to centre around the banning of a non-violent party, with his shallow attempts to deflect the causes of ‘terrorism’ away from colonial policies such as those that he calls for, onto Islam and Muslims.”

“We say to Mr Cameron, do your worst but you can never ban our ideas from growing. You will only further expose the weakness of the western ideology, by adding a ban on a non-violent group to Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, rendition, torture and the abandonment of habeas corpus.

“Every time they raise these calls their attempts to airbrush the neoconservative face of the Tory frontbench fades. One minute, Chris Grayling espouses passionate rhetoric about how this government ‘has eroded civil liberties’ and that this was ‘shameful and must be reversed’, yet he wants to ban Hizb ut-Tahrir. On the one hand they justify invading Muslim countries on the basis of securing ‘freedom and democracy’ and on the other they call to shut down political discourse through a ban. In their world they think people are only free as long as they are subservient to the values dictated by these hypocritical and corrupt politicians. This is the heart of the hypocrisy of freedom espoused by such politicians and we have no fear of that.”

Hello all,

While I agree that the prevailing secularism of the west is flawed, we can at least feel safer here than in many more Islamified countries. The persecution of non-muslims, specifically christians, is growing world wide in Muslim countries. (I tried to post examples in another thread but my post was not put online.)

When an ideology claims that it's adherents are superior to others, it is a small step to start persecuting the 'inferior' minorities. This is far from the true path of God, to love your neighbour. So please tell me how would you prevent this sort of violent hatred manifesting itself in your proposed Caliphate, as it does elsewhere in the world?

As salaam,
The western colonialists are trying day and night 24/7 to stop the Muslim ummah to get back to its route which will not only save and provide honor and respect of the ummah but also the only guided way to jannah in after life, but this revival of Muslims will expose the evil face of these horrible Ideologies and make the common people aware of whats really going on, The militants or terrorists as per they say are not actually the real threat for them but the actual defeat will come to these fake Ideologies is by the groups like Hizb.
Indeed they plan day and night and their plans are enough to move mountains, and Allah is also planning and he is the best of planners. May Allah give all Muslims the hid ayah and the courage to hold the right way even after the problems created by zalimoon and kaffiroon. Ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.

Since 9/11, disgruntled and aggrandised western politicians wish to perturb the evident media frenzy and governmental focus on Muslims and Islam throughout the world. All across the world people have become familiar with the terms 'Islam' and 'Muslims'.

“They wish to put out the light of Allah with their mouths…” {Al-Tawbah: 32]

1. To ban a political movement is censorship by any another name.
2. Censoring what – calls for political Islam; criticism of western foreign policy; criticism of the capitalist/ liberal ideology
3. Let’s be clear its nothing to do with anti-Semitism; fascism or racism – as even a cursory investigation of the Hizb’s website/culture will reveal
4. Muslims in the UK are living in a totalitarian state.
5. Muslim is now reason enough to be profiled; stopped and searched and arrested
6. And its open season on Muslims who call for political Islam – silenced; falsely accused; defamed
7. Banning will however only strengthen the Islamic call for Khilafah
8. Elsewhere in similar totalitarian states for Muslims like Uzbekistan the call for Khlilafah has only strengthen and grown - even in the bulging prisons of the oppressive country
9. Ban and expose your true imperialist, colonialist nature
10. Ban and watch the call grow – and then what ya going to do!
