Hizb ut-Tahrir rejects Evening Standard and Daily Mail’s baseless allegations Print E-mail

London, UK, January 15 2010

Earlier today Reza Pankhurst issued the following statement:

“I totally reject the baseless allegations about me in today’s Evening Standard (LSE’s Islamist teacher ‘groomed suicide bomber for Tel Aviv attack’)  and Daily Mail (Revealed: Islamist preacher who lectures at top London university ‘groomed suicide bomber’).”

“I am outraged by their suggestion that I ‘groomed’ Omar Sharif for the ‘Tel Aviv’ attack. I am taking legal advice to ensure that this false allegation is withdrawn and never repeated.”

Back in 2005, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain rejected these old allegations

Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain stated in a press release on 19th July 2005, "Asif Hanif and Omar Sharif, who were responsible for a Tel Aviv suicide bombing in April 2003, were not members of Hizb ut-Tahrir and had no affiliation whatsoever with Hizb ut-Tahrir". In addition, in undertaking these actions they were not influenced at all by any member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, including Reza Pankhurst. Despite extensive investigations by the police and security services, including legal proceedings against members of the Sharif family, no link to Hizb ut-Tahrir has ever been proven.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain wholly reserves the right to commence defamation proceedings or otherwise against media outlets which repeat defamatory allegations about the organisation.

Tried both links in the article only to find the pages have been removed. Just another mudslinging exercise. With Islam in the ascendancy these are truly desparate times for kufr.

Slm brothers and sisters. Their obvious baseless lies are a clear indication of their struggle against the call of Islam. We should not waver, we should be encouraged by false propaganda that echos from the time of Mohamed (saw). If anything we should be working harder, NOT fall into silence, in order to reap as much reward as possible before the victory comes. Allahu Akbar.

This whole saga is reminiscent of an era when the Zionist-controlled media outlets attempted to project six million as being the number killed in the Concentration Camps; only to find it fiercely contested by ‘conscientious objectors’ worldwide. Hence, now, even the BBC resorts to using a more palatable figure of around one million, without raising any eyebrows.

But with regards to Hizb ut-Tahrir, they are pinning their hopes on the same principle that if they consistently portray negative, false and baseless allegations about this organisation, that one day people will be brainwashed into accepting such ridiculous propaganda.

However, with the advent of the Internet and access to technologies like the Google search engine, anyone can know at their fingertips that since 1953 every despotic regime on the planet has tried UNSUCCESSFULLY to link HT with militancy and terrorism.

Sadly, due to credit crunch, access to such technologies are denied to ‘researchers’ employed by these national newspapers, leading to ‘smilies/grin.gifaily’ drops in their ‘Standard’; and ever increasing reliance on consultants at Quilliam foundation to help draft such headline grabing propaganda.

Desperate times call for desperate measures – anything to thwart the Call for the Khilafah.
