London, UK, April 30 2008 - Thousands of demonstrators marched through the Gaza-Egypt border town of Rafah in a demonstration organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir Palestine last Friday [25 April]. Demonstrators demanded the destruction of the colonial border which the Egyptian government uses to uphold Israel's brutal strangulation of Gaza and the suffering of its people. They also called for the re-unification of the Islamic lands and the re-establishment of the Khilafah ruling system in the Muslim world as the way to overcome the boycott and liberate Palestine.
Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said, "The Muslim world is all too familiar with the Israeli entity's legacy of flagrant disregard for human life. Mubarak has shown himself to be at the beck and call of his Western masters in ensuring the security of the Israeli entity. In this betrayal of the Palestinians, he is joined by every ruler in the Muslim world who have shown their eagerness in bartering Muslim blood in exchange for securing Western support for their seats of power. While Egypt supplies Israel with oil and gas, Gaza bleeds and suffers fuel shortages!"
"The existence of these regimes is proof that without the Islamic Khilafah, the women and children of Palestine will never be liberated from oppression. It is the Khilafah state that will unify the Muslim lands, bring strength where there is weakness and answer the cries of the Palestinian, Iraqi, and Kashmiri mothers, bringing stability and security to the region."
