Attempt to Silence Jakarta's Great Caliphate debate

London, UK , August 10 2007
- By order of the government of Indonesia, Dr Imran Waheed, Media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, member of the party's UK Executive Committee and renowned figure amongst Britain's Muslim community has been prevented from entering Indonesia on arrival at Jakarta airport. Dr Waheed was an invited speaker at this weekend's International Khilafah Conference which is expected to attract up to 100,000 delegates.

Last weekend, Dr Waheed addressed an audience of thousands at the London Khilafah conference and was due to carry a message of solidarity from Muslims in Britain. On arrival at Jakarta airport, Dr Waheed was informed that the Indonesian government had refused him permission to enter the country. In Indonesia, and in many other countries, Hizb ut-Tahrir works as an open and public organisation.

Commenting on this incident, Dr Abdul Wahid, the Chairman of Hizb ut-Tahrir's UK Executive Committee said, "Whether this is the desperate action of the Indonesian regime or the regime following the orders of an overseas government is unclear. What is clear is that there is an attempt to prevent Dr Waheed from speaking. One has to ask, do they fear our arguments so much?"

"Hizb ut-Tahrir has spearheaded a crucial debate on the future for the Muslim world - an alternative to corruption and dictatorship. We hear endless rhetoric about a battle of ideas but the only actions we see are bans, smears and an attempt to silence debate. This is 'freedom and democracy' as it actually exists in the world, rather than the utopian fantasy which is usually presented. They may try to prevent one man from speaking; they can not prevent ideas from spreading."

A.Ali: Cometh the obstacle...Cometh the khilafah.......
Since the advent of Islam, as the final and all-compassing Message to mankind up to the moment, its adversaries left no opportunity to thwart it and curb its followers. Right from day one, they did their level best to kill it in the bud using different ways.

Due to the fact that Islam holds all people equal in terms of rights, duties, human value, etc, regardless of their ethnic, social or economic backgrounds, the rich and leading figures in Makkah, fearing lest they would lose their prestige and wealth, stood adamantly in the face of the then nascent Message. They tried to put different kinds of obstacles to hinder the spread of Islam, in feverish attempts to maintain their positions and prevent any sort of threat to their interests.

In their war against Islam, they tried many kinds of weapons: bodily torture, economic sanctions, false propaganda, and financial seduction and now the banning of the sincere dawah carrier none of which was of any fruito or will ever ebar fruit.

With the Help of Allah(swt),the will, patience and perseverance of Prophet Muhammad and his faithful companions Islam could successfully pass all those hard tests. It survived all the hardships and expanded its span to include not only the Arabian Peninsula, rather spacious lands outside it.

What the Authorities in the muslim world and Non mulsim world must realise that the call for khilafah will not and does not stop with indidividuals being banned or imprisoned or tortured. The call of khilafah will only stop at the re-establishment of the khilafah.

To those who think banning sincere dawah carriers from addressing the masses will work There is one incident they have to look at from the seerah of Muhammad(saw) and is as follows:-

One day a group of the nobles of Makkah went to the house of Abu Talib, Rasool Allah's (saw) uncle. Abu Talib was the head of his tribe and a leader of the city. "What crazy words your nephew is uttering!" "O Abu Talib", they continued, "You have to stop him from saying such things. Otherwise, it is possible that he will be killed."

One of them then put his mouth close to Abu Talib's ear and quietly said, "What is it Muhammad wants? Does he want a wife, house and a fine life? Whatever he wants we will give him, provided he stops saying these things and stops calling himself the Messenger of God (Rasool Allah)."

They told Abu Talib to speak to Rasool Allah (saw) and then they left. Abu Talib invited his nephew, Rasool Allah (saw), to his house. "Do you know what the leaders of the city came to see me yesterday?" he asked him." What have you been "My dear uncle", said Rasool Allah (saw) who loved his uncle Abu Talib very much.

Allah has selected me to be His Prophet (Rasool). He has given me a message so as to lift the people from degradation. He has given me a message for me to call the people to worship of the One God. Allah has ordered me to prevent the people from idol-worship and oppression.

Abu Talib had been listening to Rasool Allah (saw) well and, at heart, he believed in him. Quietly he said to his nephew, "Do you know what they wanted from me? They wanted me to stop you from speaking like this!"

"Never will I disobey Allah's command", Rasool Allah (saw) told him without hesitation. "I am going to carry it out and will continue to call the people to devotion to the One True God and to Tawhid (monotheism)."

"My dear uncle", he continued, "I swear by Allah that if they were to offer me the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left, together with all the wealth and beauty in the world, still I would not turn back from the mission which Allah has entrusted me!"

Abu Talib thought for a moment. "In whatever way Allah has commanded you", he finally said, "Obey Him. I will always support you."

May allah give the muslims the victory of living under the shade of the Khilafah.

Yours in Islam: Boy and the KIng
This incident reminds us (the ummah) of the king's desperate effort to kill the boy and he was able to kill him only after he pronounced the SHAHADAH eventually turned the entire nation embracing Islam. SO DO WILL the dictators and its allies, will see that entire ummah embrace islam as their way of life, by curbing legitimate genuine dialogue among them.

Muhamad Abdullah: Alhamdulillah
Alhamdulillah they were banned from coming to Indonesia.

This is a clear sign from Allah that this struggle will be opposed by those who hate Islam.

This is a clear sign from Allah that those who hate Islam are in despair and in desperation as the only thing that they can do is ban, smear, torture and kill.

Alhamdulaka ya Rabb. Ya Allah, make this ban become an eye-opener to those sincere people among this ummah so that they may come to the work of da'wah.

Allah, all praise is for you and make this ban beneficial to all Muslims and their non-Muslim friends. Only You who can help us helping Your Deen.

Ameen ya Rabbal 'Aalameen.

1187: How can you defend a colonial mindset?
"We hear endless rhetoric about a battle of ideas but the only actions we see are bans, smears and an attempt to silence debate"

Nicely said!

However, I think Charles Clark said it best, in thy names - freedom, tolerance and debate

"there can be no negotiation about the re-creation of the Caliphate; there can be no negotiation about the imposition of Sharia law”.

Would you Dr Wahid have a "debate" on that which you couldn't defend? This indeed is the reality they face.

ADAM KHAN: EMBASSY of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA

I suspect, that thousands of muslims here and millions around the world will be livid, (although not surprised), at the antics being displayed by what (passes) for a government in Jakarta.

You can register your disgust with the AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY and PLENIPOTENTIARY DR. Raden Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (LONDON)on (020) 7499 7661. If you happen to be in the vicinity, you may wish to leave a token of your displeasure at the embassy itself at 38 GROSVENOR SQUARE, LONDON, W1K 2HW.

Abu Yaqub: ...
Isn't it ironic that countries such as Indonesia allows Western popstars to go there and hold concerts and Playboy to sell their magazines, yet Muslims are not allowed to talk about Islam. The Muslims of Indonesia will have to account their government for what clearly is an attack on Islam

Hassan: Wow!
The Conference was always going to make news. Now it's going to make news before it starts. The ban is never going to stop people discussing Khilafah and Muslim Unity. It will only make it bigger!

Mohammed Naseer: HTB, HTA, HTP - Delegates barred from attending the 'International Caliphate Debate'
Whilst poll after poll confirm massive support for the caliphate in the Muslim world, delegates arriving to speak at the International Khilafah Conference in Indonesia were refused entry upon arrival at Jakarta Airport.

Ismail Alwahwah, representing Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia, and Dr Imran Waheed, representing Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, were both refused entry to Indonesia upon arrival at Jakarta airport. Shiek Issam Amera, who previously addressed the Khilafah Conference organised in Australia in January 2007, was barred from leaving Palestine to attend the conference in Indonesia.

One should ask the question, at this point, why on the one hand delegates representing proxy regimes in the Muslim world, who routinely torture, oppress, and murder their citizens are allowed free passage to attend conferences such as 'Islam and Muslims in the world today' organised by a man who is responsible for imeasureable suferring around the world are allowed to spew their propaganda against the concept of Caliphate, yet delegates from a non-violent peacefull organisation are being barred from attending a debate on the Caliphate.

HTB Editor: Message from Imran Waheed
Hizb.org.uk is trying to get interviews with the 3 speakers who were barred from Indonesia soon - but here is a message we received from Dr Imran Waheed,

These are merely the actions of a weak and defeated ideology - I told the Indonesian authorities that they will live as slaves as long as they are slaves to America.

They have said that the order to prevent me entering the country came from the "Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" and also the "Ministry of Defence". They said they did not know the reason for the decision to prevent me coming but I told them that the reason was well known.

Salman: censorship is a sign of defeat
The paper tiger Indonesian government has exposed openly what we all knew- that it could not allow the Muslims of Indonesia to hear the call of unity emanating from London showing that the Muslims in the East and the West stand together as one body seeking the return of the khilafah Rashida

Faraz Amin: nothing better
There has been no better news than this regarding the conference, for truly it makes it plainly obvious that the indo government, and those behind it, have lost the war of ideas (again). Political suicide by the INdonesian government, truly.

Shah: By Allah This is a sign of the victory being so close.
Brother Imrans entry may have stopped but by Allah the idea of the islamic state, khilafah, caliphate or call it whatever, has been deeply penetrated into the hearts and minds of the muslims globally. The battle of the hearts and minds of Muslims has been won, now its time for the soloution which is the the Modern Islamic State of justice and equality that the worlds been waiting for and what the capitalists have feared for decades.

Walahi this incident only further reinforces the fact that we are indeed close to the victory.............History is about to repeat it self!!!!!!!

bodorul Islam: we can see their fear
ALL PRAISE BE TO ALLAH

we can see the fear of the tyrants around the world. Denying Dr Imran Waheed from entering the country is another evidence of their fear and shows how close the umah is to the khilafah. MY ALLAH SWT BRING IT BACK SOON.
