Obama will be more of a 'makeover' than a 'remaking' of the US Print E-mail

obama_hand_up.jpgLondon, UK, 21 January 2009 – In his inaugural address, US President Barack Obama talked of “remaking America” and said “to the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect”. The hatred for Bush and the unpopularity of US policy over the last 8 years has been hugely damaging for the ‘freedom and democracy’ brand and many hope Obama will be the saviour who will change America’s image as a war monger in the world.

Commenting on Obama’s inauguration, Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said, “America is not one man. America is its institutions, which have compromised the very principles they claim to uphold. America has its capitalist system whose weaknesses lie exposed. One man can never change those problems that are systemic in a state, no matter how eloquently he pledges to do so. America is a capitalist state with a capitalist foreign policy and that is to colonise other states. As such she will seek to maintain her domination of the Muslim world and continue that capitalist agenda of exploitation. Presidents come and go, policies may be amended, but there will be no real change.”

“We should look beyond personality and evaluate declared policies. Despite criticising George Bush’s foreign policy, Barack Obama has declared his willingness to attack Pakistan, intensify the war in Afghanistan and keep promoting disaster capitalism. He has also pledged unstinting support for the brutal Israeli occupation of Palestine.”

“Real change in the Muslim world cannot come from having faith in one man. It will never come from emulating a failed capitalist system. It will only come when the Muslim world transfers its faith in Islam to faith in Islam's political ideas and restore the Islamic Khilafah: an accountable, just system, not open to manipulation, which puts the poor and needy at the centre of its economic programme, and which will defend its lands from occupation and exploitation.”

This is a fiercely territorial, fiercely competitive world where the rich exploit the poor and the strong devour the weak. On the international scene the law of the jungle reigns supreme where might is always right and the poor and the weak get trampled upon. Global politics is all about the survival of the fittest and fighting for supremacy – don’t be fooled by the apparent niceties or civility of international diplomacy.

With this global political climate the major countries in the World will selfishly vie with each other over markets, resources, lucrative contracts and the exploitation of cheap expendable labour in the world so as to selfishly feed their respective countries. These major countries will fight, conspire and play dirty to secure such interests. Countries that are ‘friends’ will stab each other in the back and countries considered to be ‘enemies’ will forge alliances all depending on their respective interests – everything goes.

Each country gears its domestic and military policy in such away as to prepare it to ‘compete’ in the world.

So, you see its not Obama, Bush or Clinton that will dictate the direction that America takes. It is ultimately American material interests that will dictate America’s policy on War, Peace, and subterfuge.

Assalamualaikum

Just in case anyone missed this video posted late last year:

Obama's promises towards that disgraceful murderous land of Israel:

http://www.hizb.org.uk/hizb/multimedianew/video/what-muslims-can-expect-from-obama-in-his-own-words.html

So he wants to close Guantanamo. What have we learnt from history when you follow the carrot on the end of the America's stick? I don't see any alternative other than to shut down the system of Capitalism and usher in the Khilafah. InshAllah, let us work together as an Ummah on the road map towards real peace and security under an Islamic system which will bring back dignity to all human beings and remove the despair and degradation people live under this miserable existence.

He's little more than an institution man!

His focus will be on Afghanistan now and how to prevent the vulnerable supply line from Karachi to the US troops from disintegrating - the alternatives are new lines through Russia/her satellites.

Palestine will be pretty much ignored by him as having no solution and he will not want to destroy his name by connecting it to the situation - he will simply send his underlings there...

American business as usual!
