PRESS CONFERENCE: Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain launches ‘Stand For Islam’ mobilisation campaign Print E-mail
Friday, 18 April 2008
17 April 2008 - Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain today held a press conference to launch its latest UK based campaign, titled ‘Stand for Islam'. The campaign aims to mobilise Muslim opinion to challenge the vicious media and political onslaught against Islam and Muslims.
Taji Mustafa, UK media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir said after the launch: "The current smears against Islam and the Shariah, the filthy cartoons defaming our beloved Prophet (saw), and the calls in Holland to ban the Quran - are part of the propaganda used as part of the war on Islam, commonly called the war on terror. It is a supremacist war that aims to force one system - capitalism - and secular liberal values on the whole world."

"Our campaign will show the sublime values of Islam and the ability of the Islamic system to solve modern problems. The Muslim world is crying out for Islam, and Hizb ut-Tahrir works globally for the restoration of the Khilafah in the Muslim world. People need to know the real nature of Islam, not the lies pedalled by western politicians and media."

"It is also time to question the capitalist system and the liberal values they want to impose across the world. Those who attack Islam need to do some honest soul searching. When they next attack the hudood punishments they must ask why crime is so rampant in the west. Why do they hypocritically claim free speech as an excuse to abuse Allah's Prophets yet call for the Qur'an to be banned? When they next attack the modesty of Muslim women they must answer why women in the west are forced to fulfil the demands of men's appetites in lad's magazines which dishonour them. They must answer questions about the global financial crisis, family breakdown and the widening poverty gap."

"The true face of European ‘intolerance' has become clear to all. In this hostile climate, it is important that the Muslim Community remain united and respond to these attacks emulating the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). Amongst other things, this campaign will address: how Muslims should respond to such attacks, the intellectual challenge of the Qur'an, how Islam liberates people from the injustices of secularism and colonialism, why the West fears the re-establishment of the Khilafah and how we can best convey the Message of Islam. Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain will be holding a series of seminars, workshops, debates and exhibitions titled Stand for Islam on the key issues being debated here in the West."

Amongst the media outlets that attended were Al-Jazeera, GEO and The Jang.

zardad Khan: A reply to Alan
It seems Alan that your comment come straight from the Sun newspaper or its like.Do you never critisise what is happening in the West, crime on our streets, thousands of women raped avery year, the illegal occupation of Iraq & Afgahistan, the lies/deciet of our politicians (dealings with Saudi arabia). Not to mention the unstinting support of dictatorial regimes ie Pakistan. The Job of a citizen is hold the government accountable,to reach out to each other in our communities in order to create common understanding. But Alan, dialogue cannot begin with vilification and condemnation of the one who one wishes to discuss with. However it seems that we have to operate by different rules, people attack Islam under the Guise of free speach, but then the same people wish to deny the same to others by calling to ban the Quran or building of Mosques, or the vilification of Prophet Mohammed,or the way they coose to dress. Freedom of speech should not allow us to abuse each other, but should allow constructive debate and critism.when debate is started in the west, it starts of by degrading and insulting remarks. If we go by your commenmts alan the every who does not agrre with you or the sytem they live under should leave, that is in your opinion a civilisedc opinion. Does it include all white Europeans, Scots, welsh and Irish people. On the whole Muslims do not want implemention of the Islamic system in the West. How is it then that western Nations have carried their ideas for centuries at the barrel of a gun and forcing their own ideas thereby, even if it means hundred of thousands dieing In Iraq. But we feel that Islam can resolve the social and Economic problems faced here and that as Citizens we have our rights but obilgations to. Or do your liberal values not give me that right.

Zafar Basar: Re: alan walsh: why, why, why?

Response to alan walsh: why, why, why

If the West is such a terrible place, why should be muslims living there.

Some of the answers:

a). The West have been supporting dictatorial regimes in the Middle East which persecute muslim da’wa carriers. All muslim countries are not governed by Syariah Law. So many muslims have chosen to emigrate to the West where they can carry the Islamic da’wa with more freedom and efficiency.

b). Also the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan and recently Somalia by West and Western backed military regimes like Ethiopia have resulted a huge number of refugees (4 million in Iraq alone) into western countries. Thus Western invasion of muslim countries is just adding the problem for the West, creating mass refugees for the West to handle.

c). Some of the Western policies driven by IMF and World Bank have created mass unemployment and poverty in muslim countries, and muslim professionals have chosen to emigrate to countries where they can have an employment and a decent salary.

TARIK ABDULLAH ABULQASIM: ...
Wallahi, I love Hizb-ut-Tahrir and their efforts to unify and establish this Ummah. I wish very much that there was a Hizb-ut Tahrir in America. This organiztion 's undeniable love for Islam I believe will spead like wild-fire amongs the true and sincere believers in Islam throughout this world. Hizb-ut-Tahrir clearly fits the description of Allah (SWT)in the Quran when Allah says in Ali Imran Chapter 104 "Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. They are the ones to attain felicity." ALso Allah promised the Believers in SUratun-Nur 55-57 that He will of a surety establish the Muslims on this earth with power to carry out His will and that He will establish Islam as the authority on earth only if the Muslims worship and fear no other than Allah (SWT). It is imperative that Muslims clearly understand the ramifications of their declaration when they say "There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger" that when they say this they take an "Oath of Allegiance" to Allah(SWT) and His Prophet (PBUH).Understand that this declaration fully embodies, encompasses, and acknowledges an unprecendented, unmitigated, and udiluted "Oath of Allegiance" (Bayah) or promise to Allah and His Messenger that you must absolutly allow this understanding to penetrate and permeate every sinew and every fibre of your mind and body to such an exteent that you will find no resistance in your heart about anything They command and unequivocally say to Allah and His Messenger, "We hear and we obey!" My prayers goes out for the success of Hibu-ut-Tahrir.
