In the early days of October 2009, the Zardari regime began to repeatedly announce the need for launching of military operations in Waziristan by the Pakistan Army. These announcements came both after months of the government laying siege against the Muslims of Waziristan, by cutting food and other essential supplies, and after Zardari received his orders from America during his extensive visit there.
