Bhutto dynasty to continue in a farce called democracy Print E-mail

The appointment of Benazir Bhutto's 19 year old son Bilawal as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) by his father Asif Ali Zardari, exposes the true democratic colours of the PPP. Asif Zardari had apparently been nominated as Party Chairman by his late wife Benazir and rejected the post in favour of his son in a shining example of democratic values at work within the party, which is claiming to restore democracy in Pakistan.

Following in his mother's footsteps Bilawal Bhutto is studying at Oxford where he will be well groomed to take up the banner of western democratic values in Pakistani politics when he finishes his studies! However, the track record of democracy in Pakistan is a disasterous one, characterised by a corrupt feudal politics that exploits the poor and rewards the riich, land owning and industrial classes.  Furthermore these "democratic dynasties" have perpetuated sectarianism throughout Pakistan bringing nothing but misery to the vast majority of its citizens. Successive democratic governments including those of Benazir Bhutto have comprehensively failed to allieviate poverty or to develop civil institutions allowing ordinary people to benefit from the basic elements of justice and the rule of law. In addition, the corrupt secular values associated with democratic systems brings with it a culture that conflicts with the Islamic values held by the vast majority of Pakistani Muslims who yearn for the implementation of the Shariah!

It is high time that the Muslims of Pakistan reject wholesale the brand of politics and twisted democratic ideals of the PPP, PML-N and PML-Q and look towards a new Islamic leadership and system that will restore security, independence and unity to a country that has been fractured by decades of secular governance either in the form of military dictators or corrupt democratic parties.  Hizb ut Tahrir calls upon all sincere Pakistani leaders to reject the failed politics of the past and to work to implement Islam through the re-etablishment of a new Khilafah.

This is interesting. Our western media often shows him to be an anti-semetic homophobe. Is this incorrect, would you say? I have never been to Iran and find him perhaps a misunderstood man in the west. Certainly I think it's outrageous that Bush is behaving so hypocritically by trying to stir up a war by accusing him of developing nuclear weapons (when America itself have enough of the things to destroy the world several times over!) when only very recently they were supposed to be one of America's allies against Iraq... and then if you go even further back, the American governmnet SUPPORTED Saddam Hussein while he was fighting the Iranians...

Whether or not I agree with Mr Ahmedinejad on everything, he is a brave man I think for standing up to the Bush administration.

Brotherhood of Believers: Candidate for position of Khalifah
Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I would just like to share my personal opinion that the present Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad has some vital qualities and capabilities to take on the role as leader of the entire Ummah. His profile and past experiences are easily available online. Hope to hear more comments from those who've read his biography.

And Allah(swt) knows best.
