Reports this week from the American Forces Press Service on 5th December 2008 quoting Maj. Gen. Michael Tucker revealed that the United States is building a massive new barracks as part of its plans to inject at least a further 20,000 troops into the Afghanistan-Pakistan region next year.

 On 7 November, American military aircraft once again violated Pakistani airspace to launch another missile attack on civilian targets in northern Pakistan. This was the 20th attack since August in which many civilians have been made shaheed.

In 1924, Mustafa Kemal announced the abolition of the Khilafah state, a state that had been in existence for over thirteen centuries, which had overcome the Roman Empire, the Persian Empire and the Crusaders. In 1924 the state that had led the world in discovery, science, culture and which led the world in attitudes towards women, redistribution of wealth and just governance lay in ruins. To its west, the Muslim world now faced a powerful and ideological enemy intent on colonising the world. This menace would soon be magnified by the division of the Muslim world on an unimaginable scale.

Gordon Brown’s desperate visit to Saudi Arabia today to address the rise of global oil prices exposes the true face of the west’s policy in the Muslim world. On the one hand Britain and America bomb Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of securing freedom and democracy; whilst on the other Brown courts the oppressive despot in Jeddah to cajole him into pumping more oil.

The Muslim Ummah today is the target and the victim of diverse forms of aggression by the imperialist disbelievers and polytheists. Thousands of Muslims are being killed and made homeless from military aggression in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Kashmir etc. There is also the political aggression whereby the likes of Mahmoud Abbas, Pervez Musharraf, Hamid Karzai and Fakhruddin Ahmed have been imposed on the Ummah who surrender her interests to the Jews, Christians and the polytheists. Add to this the economic aggression of foreign financial institutions such as the IMF and the WB which have impoverished the Ummah. These are some of the forms of aggression which lead to the loss of our lives, wealth and strategic interests.

 The heart bleeds with grief when considering the situation of the Muslims today. With regards to the wealth of the Muslims, each day brings new misery, whether in terms of rises in the prices of petrol, gas and wheat, or electricity shortages, or robberies and suicides driven by extreme poverty.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams gave an interview to the
BBC on 7th February 2008 in which he proposed that some aspects of
Shariah law could be incorporated into English law.
The response to his comments have been vitriolic. The media provocatively
reported his words that it was ‘unavoidable’ that Muslims would have
Shariah law in the UK, opening a familiar attack on Islam. Prime
Minister Gordon Brown entered the debate saying that laws in Britain
should only be based on British values – although where lucrative
profits for the City of London are concerned, he is happy to promote
Britain as a centre for Shariah compliant finance. A typical response
to the William’s interview on websites was: “Muslims are running away
from this barbaric law which is practiced in their own countries, once
here they want to bring this barbaric law with them. If they want this
law they could go and live in a country that practices this law.”
