Gordon Brown’s desperate visit to Saudi Arabia today to address the rise of global oil prices exposes the true face of the west’s policy in the Muslim world. On the one hand Britain and America bomb Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of securing freedom and democracy; whilst on the other Brown courts the oppressive despot in Jeddah to cajole him into pumping more oil.
The hypocrisy of Britain and America is clear to all. The only value
that guides the west’s foreign policy is the 'freedom' to secure her
material interests in the Muslim lands. Iraq was invaded to secure her
vast oil reserves. Indeed the only people now celebrating about the
chaos that is currently Iraq will be the oil companies Shell, BP, Exxon
Mobil and Total set to return to Iraq after an absence of nearly four
decades. Afghanistan was invaded to control the huge energy resources
in Central Asia, as well as its strategically important position.
Now a Muslim country is being asked to pump more oil so that the
Britain and America can continue their aggression upon the Islamic
world in the name of the ‘War on Terror’!
The Saudi state was a creation of Britain and successive British
governments have long enjoyed relations with the Saudi royal family.
Winston Churchill gifted a Rolls Royce to King Abdullah's father Abdul
Aziz from Britain. Tony Blair cancelled a long-running fraud
investigation into the £40bn Al-Yamamah BAE arms deal. Perhaps Gordon
Brown expects that he can call in a favour, despite the fact that many
argue that it is heightened speculation in western financial markets
that has caused this surge in oil price, not a lack of production.
This blatant political and economic exploitation, and military
aggression, upon the Muslim world will continue as long as the corrupt
western backed rulers continue to run the affairs of the Muslims. These
rulers in collusion with their masters in the West do everything to
facilitate the west’s occupation and pillage of the Muslim lands.
O Muslims
The only way to stop the hand of the colonialist in our lands is to
establish an Islamic leadership (the Khilafah) that will liberate the
Muslim lands from colonialism, occupation and aggression. A leadership
that will use the huge economic wealth of the Ummah to lead the Ummah
onto a path of development and prosperity and not squander our wealth
in serving the interests of the colonialists.
