Call for Muslim Armies to intervene to defend the people. Protest against the Collusion of the Arab Dictators with Israel’s Terrorism in Gaza
No one can fail to have been shocked by the scale of the violence being perpetrated upon the people of Gaza in occupied Palestine. The death count had reached 500 by the time Israel's bloody ground assault had started. Women, children and the elderly are amongst the dead, and the amongst the injured for whom there is no adequate medical care. This has come after the people of Gaza have been besieged for months, suffering extreme hardship.
Israel is a state founded upon land seized from the people of Palestine for the sole benefit and superiority of one race in the region. Only weeks ago, on 11th December 2008, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was quoted by Haaretz newspaper as calling for Palestinian Arabs to leave the land of Israel in the future in what many have described as little more than a call for ‘ethnic cleansing’. The unjust basis for its foundation and its nationalistic and supremacist character has caused decades of violence and instability.
But what has happened in the past few days has been nothing less than terrorism on a grand scale, the like of which has not been seen since the Israeli war machine demolished the West Bank town of Jennin. It is exploiting a window of opportunity between presidencies in the United States, in order to secure for themselves further gains on the ground.
Yet it is not only this that has provoked our campaign. Nor is it the blatent bias from western politicians and media, that first sought to blame the violence on the Palestinians, and then made some equivalence between the massacre of 500 Palestinians in 1 week and the twenty or so people killed over 8 years by home-made rockets, used by people who have been provoked and bullied by the Israeli Defence Force.
What has brought us out, more than anything else, is the collusion of the Arab leaders, who have allied with Israel in this massacre, much to the disgust of their own citizens. There is clear evidence that Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak was briefed about this before the events unfolded, as was Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority. Moreover, the regimes of Saudi Arabia and Syria have been negotiating behind the scenes with Israel.
All have, at the very least, remained silent when these massacres have occurred and some, like the Egyptian regime, compounded the persecution by blocking the frontier with Gaza, preventing fearful residents from fleeing the missile attacks.
The overwhelming majority of Muslims hate these regimes, who persecute their own citizens, desert the oppressed of Palestine, and who sometimes misuse the name of Islam for their own ends. They would like to see the back of them and see instead the Islamic system of government that ruled over the Muslim world with justice, stability and harmony for centuries - the Khilafah (Caliphate). The call for its return in the Islamic world is grows ever larger.
Though we wish to see the abolition of the Zionist political entity called Israel, that was unjustly
established and has persecuted people for so long, we do not wish to see every non-Muslim removed from the area. We desire to see Muslims, Christians and Jews who rightly belong in the region living side by side under the justice of Islamic rule, which maintained the harmony and mutual respect between the people for centuries. Indeed, it is only under Islamic governance that this region enjoyed any peace and stability for any significant period.
