London 26th Jan 2008 - Hundreds of men and women gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in London for a protest organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, and later moved outside the luxury Dorchester hotel where the dictator of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf was staying during his European trip. The crowd was addressed by Dr Imran Waheed, media spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Britain, Nadeem Ajaib, and Mehboob Shah. They addressed the betrayal of Pakistan under Musharraf in terms of security for the people, the outsourcing of its sovereignty to western colonial powers, the neglect of the economy causing record food prices, long queues for flour, and frequent power cuts for millions of people.

The hosting of Pakistan's tyrant dictator by the British goverment, who censors criticism and crushes opposition with an iron grip, was condemned, highlighting the contradiction between the rhetoric and reality on issues of 'human rights'.

The speakers illustrated how the Islamic Khilafah system would provide a real alternative for people in Pakistan, securing sovereignty for Islam and away from western colonial powers, restoring political authority to the people, and dealing with poverty and Pakistan's energy problems.

Finally, a letter was delivered to the embassy, addressing Musharraf and giving him notice of continued vocal opposition to his tyranny, and that of any who may follow him. Pictures of the demonstration are shown below.

Irfan Bhatti: Cane we get a sincere ruler given the current political system?
I think it is always important to highlight injustices that occur in the world. I congratulate the people at this demonstration for raising awareness by peaceful political expression.

I can clearly see that it is NOT POSSIBLE for a sincere ruler to rise through the political ranks of Pakistan. At the moment, in order to progress onto a political career in Pakistan, you have to have key skills such as corruption, deceit and no conscience on your CV. Clearly, the only possible way to obtain a sincere ruler is by having a sincere system put in place, one that the people truly believe in. So it does mean that the Ummah have no choice but to implement Islam if we want to get out of the mess that we're in and obtain a sincere ruler and a system that works. Hence the need to work for the Islamic Khilafah as well as the fact that Allah(swt) has ordered us to do so.

Let us not forget, as well as Musharraf you also have the other darlings of America such as, Islam Karimov from Uzbekistan, Mubarak from Egypt and also the rest of the 50 other rulers from the Muslim world.

May Allah(swt) Help us out of this mess, Ameen.

Farooq M Abbas: ...
When Musharraf seized power, he declared that Kemal Pasha (the traitor)was his hero since childhood. The Ummah should have realised what to expect from a deciple of such a Jew who brought down the ruling of Islam in 1924. We must set about to undo not only wht Musharraf has done, but also what his 'hero' did: merely replacing Musharraf with a Nawaz Shareef or a Zardari/Bhutto will be purely naive of us.
