Brothers in Islam
The Prophet of Allah and the best of creation صلى اﷲ علیه وسلم described our situation today:
“The nations will fall upon you attacking you as those who fall upon a meal. They asked: O RasulAllah will that be because we are few in number. He replied: You will be in large number but you will be like the froth on the water and your hearts will be stricken by Wahan. They asked: What is Wahan? He replied: Love of dunya and fear of death.” (Abu Dawud and Ahmad)
The Muslim world is in tatters. However this weeks our tears and emotions have been with the oppressed men, women and children of Aleppo.
The world watched the destruction of Aleppo where tens of thousands of Muslim men, women and children were and still are at the mercy of the bloodthirsty Syrian Army and its allies.
Their families, their homes, livelihood and dreams have been destroyed and buried under rubble.
More than 50,000 out of an estimated quarter-million inhabitants have been displaced by attacks on rebel-held eastern Aleppo.
They been bombed with the worst weapons mankind has ever developed.
Aleppo has been subjected to chemical attacks, gas attacks, starvation tactics, airstrikes, barrel bombs – all of this at the hands of the Syrian regime and its allies.
About 80,000 civilians are trapped in the few square miles of east Aleppo.
UNICEF said that nearly 100 unaccompanied children were trapped in a building under heavy attack in east Aleppo.
Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad entered homes and killed those inside, and in others caught and killed on the spot fleeing civilians.
Brothers in Islam
The rulers in the Muslim world are guilty as much as the barbarian Bashar al Assad in destroying Aleppo.
The rulers of the Muslim world, specifically Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been silent. The armies could have liberated Aleppo, but were not even called into action. They remained in their barracks watching the genocide.
These rulers do not stand with the Muslims of Aleppo who faced the bombings by the regime and its allies like Russia.
Their loyalty are with nations that care nothing about Syria or the value of human life and dignity.
Khutba Part 2
Brothers in Islam
We address Aleppo because Brotherhood and Ummah are central to our identity.
Allah (swt) said in the Quran:
إَّ نمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إخْوَةٌ
“The believers are nothing else except brothers” (al-Hujarat: 10)
However the British Government does not want us to promote these types of opinions. It seeks to distance our affiliation to Aleppo and be concerned about being ‘British’.
Even though our bond to the people of Aleppo is by the Aqeedah of Islam and not by which land we were born.
Indeed we must speak the truth about the oppression of Muslims as we have a bond with them. That means we must ask the treacherous rulers of the Muslim world:
Why did they abandon the people of Aleppo to their fate?
Why did they remain silent about Aleppo?
Who are their allegiances with?
Why did the armies of the Muslim world remain at a standstill?
We must understand clearly that the solution of Aleppo, Rohingya, Yemen, Kashmir and everywhere that Muslims are being oppressed is by working towards the Khilafah Rashidah.
It is not fitting for the Muslim world that it remains absent of the Imam that will protect the Ummah of the Prophet (saw).
إنما الإمام جنة یقاتل من ورائه ویتقى به
“Only the Imam is a shield, behind whom you fight and you protect yourself with…” (Muslim)
For 1400 years since the Prophet (saw) established the Shariah in Madinah, the Muslims had strong leaders. Not like the corrupt cowards we have today.
A single leader that would protect the Muslims from hardship and oppression. That were able to protect the honour of women and the innocence of children.
We are absent of this Imam and Khaleefah today.
This needs to be our call today and we must respond to it for success in this dunya and the Akirah.
“O You who believe! Respond to Allah and to the Messenger when He calls you to what will bring you to life!” (Al-Anfaal, 8:24)
