London UK, 15th November 2009 – several media outlets have reported an allegation that the Dhaka University’s Vice Chancellor has received a letter from Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh, threatening him to reinstate Hizb ut-Tahrir Spokesman, Mohiuddin Ahmed and release those involved in the Bagabundhu murder case.
It is well known amongst all who are aware and educated that since its origin in 1953 Hizb ut-Tahrir has been a non-violent, intellectual and political party. Therefore, the above allegations are absolutely baseless, fraudulent and not even worth addressing.
The enemies of Islam and the Muslim Ummah are expected to take desperate measures to prevent the rise of Islam as this would mean an end to the US-UK-Indian evil plans for Bangladesh, and an end to the corruption of the Awami government who are only interested in their self-interest with no concern for the people’s affair. The use of smear campaign and lies to tarnish the image of others by the Awami government is notorious, as they did during the Pilkhana massacre.
This attempt to tarnish the reputation of Hizb ut-Tahrir shows the desperation within the Awami government to deal with the popularity of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh. This smear against Hizb ut-Tahrir shows how intellectually bankrupt Hasina’s government is; rather than addressing the views and policies of Hizb ut-Tahrir intellectually they respond with typical tactics of false allegations and harassment which has become the norm of the corrupt secular politics of Bangladesh.
As the work for the Khilafah intensifies and gains more support amongst the people, the enemies of Islam will resort to any means necessary to put up obstacles in achieving the Khilafah; be it false allegations, violence, propaganda, etc. Just as the Prophet Muhammad (saw) faced in Makkah when the Quraish accused him of being a sorcerer, a madman, persecuted his followers and boycotted them for 3 years. But this did not prevent him from proclaiming Islam and establishing the Islamic government as they held to the truth with full trust in Allah (swt).
Hizb ut-Tahrir is a global party facing these same challenges from corrupt tyrannical regimes whose interest is only to serve their foreign imperialist masters, and preserve their positions to ensure their own benefits. Hizb ut-Tahrir will continue following the path of the Prophet Muhammad (saw), with full trust in Allah’s promise, and work with the people of Bangladesh to remove the foreign imposed corrupt system and establish a new and sincere leadership.
