The Bush-Blair corporate capitalism is responsible for the suffering of the people in Baghdad and New Orleans
London, UK, September 6 – The response of the Bush administration to the disaster in New Orleans and other southern states in America has truly exposed the nature of the corporate capitalist elites who run America. With over ten thousand people now feared to be dead and hundreds of thousands displaced with no access to food, water and sanitation, this event has shown to the world the value given to human life in the world?s richest country. A country that prides itself on its achievements in space, its high-tech weaponry and its ability to pulverise nations has by all accounts delivered a third world response to alleviate the painful suffering of its own people. So much so that America has finally swallowed her pride and asked the EU and NATO for emergency assistance, requesting blankets, first aid kits, water trucks and food for the victims of the hurricane.
This is the same America that claims the higher moral ground over other nations believing that she is the harbinger of human rights and equality. But this disaster has shown the world the reality of the attitude of the corporate elites in America led by the Bush administration as witnessed through the awful treatment of poor, black Americans who constituted the vast majority of the victims.
The world has already witnessed the invasion and destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan at the hands of Bush and Blair, which has led to hundreds and thousands of deaths already. This latest event in America has illustrated that innocent people even in America are not free from the injustices and oppression of global capitalism.
Dr Imran Waheed, a media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said: "The events in America over the last week have demonstrated that nobody is free, whether in the Muslim world or in the West, from the injustices and oppression of corporate capitalism that rules the world today. While the US is using her military might to force the Muslim world to adopt capitalism, capitalism is causing chaos within her own society. The Muslim world has suffered for decades at the hands of ruling elites that have squandered the wealth of the people and served the rich ruling elites in the West. The Muslim world now desires to be ruled by the Islamic Caliphate where every human being?s life is valued, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, black or white. It is this Caliphate which will come to the aid of the poor and oppressed of the world by establishing an economic and social system which will uproot the plague of racism and poverty that has become commonplace under global capitalism."
