Wednesday, 25 February 2009 – A high level delegation from Hizb ut-Tahrir today attended the offices and presented its demands to the Pakistan High Commission in London.
Delegates included Qasim Ali, from Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain’s Executive Committee and Asif Salahuddin, a senior member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain demanded an explanation from the Pakistani government regarding the disclosure by US Senator Dianne Feinstein, head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, that the drones that frequently attack Pakistan were being flown from bases in Pakistan, provided by the Pakistani government.
Taji Mustafa, Media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said “An explanation is required when the account of Senator Feinstein directly contradicts the assurances the Pakistani government has given its own people”.
The demands call for a disclosure of the agreements signed by the government and the United States, closure of all US bases and an end to cooperation with the US while the attacks against Pakistan continue. We also demand that if the Pakistani government is not prepared to stand up to American pressure and cannot provide the leadership and courage required, then it is only serving the American agenda and that Hizb ut-Tahrir would work tirelessly to replace the corrupt system and government with the sincere leadership of Sheikh Ata Abu Rashta, ameer of Hizb ut-Tahrir and the Khilafah System.
