Hundreds to attend London Conference titled ‘Pakistan: Time for a new leadership and new system’
London, UK, November 29 2007 – About one thousand delegates will attend Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain’s national conference – Pakistan: Time for a new leadership and new system at Friends House in London on Saturday 1st December 2007
Dr Imran Waheed, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, "As Musharraf usurps the presidency and vies for power with Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, we will be proposing real ideas for a new way forward for Pakistan and solutions to the very real problems of political corruption, poverty and deprivation, sectarianism and foreign interference in Pakistan and the wider Muslim world. This conference will articulate an alternative to the failed leadership and systems of the past 60 years."
"Both dictatorship and the western promoted panacea of democracy have failed Pakistan. Only the Islamic Khilafah (caliphate) system can free Pakistan from subservience to colonial powers and provide the country with a new leadership, system and policies that will put the interests of the people first."
The conference will take place on Saturday 1st December 2007 at 6:30pm at Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ.
