Pakistan’s government provides bases for US Predator drone attacks against its own people
London UK, 13 February 2009 – US senator Dianne Feinstein, chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, today commented on the Pakistani government’s apparent opposition to the ongoing American airstrikes by Predator drones in Pakistan saying, “As I understand it, these are flown out of a Pakistani base.” Former U.S. intelligence officials confirmed that Feinstein’s account is accurate.
Reacting to these statements, Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said: "Senator Feinstein’s admission has only confirmed what has long been an open secret that the ‘democratic’ Pakistani government is actively co-operating with America’s undeclared war on Pakistan to weaken and destroy the country, bringing death and destruction to its innocent civilians.”
“More than 700,000 people have been displaced with hundreds killed in these indiscriminate American airstrikes. The UN is predicting that another 600,000 citizens are likely to be made homeless in continuing operations.”
“President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani continue to deceive the nation by denying that they are facilitating these attacks. It is manifestly clear that in private the Pakistan regime is fully behind President Obama’s policies and betrays its own people by providing full logistical support to the American killing machine. Not only has it provided bases inside Pakistan but it continues to permit the transportation of American and NATO weaponry – used to kill its own citizens – through Karachi port while supplying 80% of the fuel for the American war machine from Pakistani oil refineries.”
“Today’s statement clearly reveals the extent of the collusion with America. Such open treachery would be punished in any other state but has become the norm with such ‘democratic’ governments in the Muslim world today. Only the establishment of the Khilafah will stop the US plan to weaken Pakistan and ensure the safety and security of its citizens. The people of Pakistan must work with Hizb ut-Tahrir to liberate the country from this puppet government and establish the Khilafah before this government brings the country to its knees.”
