Women of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain Organise Seminar to Oppose America’s Undeclared War on Pakistan
London, UK, December 18 2008 – Hundreds of Muslim women will attend Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain women’s seminar: The Undeclared War on Pakistan at Noshai Civic Centre, Birmingham on Sunday 21st December 2008.
The event is part of a national awareness campaign in the UK against America’s undeclared war on Pakistan which the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan said has lead to the killing of 2000 civilians and the displacement of 700,000 people since 2007 due to the bombardment of the FATA and NWFP areas.
Dr Nazreen Nawaz, women’s media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, “This seminar will voice strong opposition and condemnation of America’s Undeclared War on Pakistan. While the Zardar-Gilani government’s reaction to these killings has been inaction, defeatism and cowardice, it is now clear that they – like the military dictatorship of Musharraf – are actively colluding with those attacking the country; protecting western military supplies through Pakistan and supplying 80% of the fuel for the western war machine in Afghanistan.”
“Pakistan has the 7th largest army in the world and is a nuclear armed nation which sits on the world’s 2ndlargest coal reserves and 5th largest gold and copper reserves, but has only had leaderships that are indifferent to the suffering of its people and bereft of any vision for the country.”
“Pakistan desperately needs a new leadership and a new system – the Khilafah State – that will provide security and economic stability to its people, and harness the resources and true potential of the country to make it a leading nation in the world.”
Doors open at 11 a.m. and conference programme starts at 11:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. on Sunday 21st December 2008. The venue is Noshai Civic Centre, Coventry Road, Birmingham, B10 0RA.
