From hundreds of thousands migrating across the world from Africa to Southern America, to wars raging in Yemen and Syria, protests against dictators and even climate change; all of these things have something in common – their causes. Be that policies based upon benefit and wealth accumulation for the rich at the expense of the common man, or a colonial foreign policy which is the root cause for terrorism across the globe.
The world in 2019 is an indictment of what the leading powers have created and nurtured. The worldwide march of neoliberalism via democracy under the guise of ‘global values’, is nothing more than a tactic to control the lives of billions of people. When the political, economic and social makeup of a people are all decided without their consent, it simply plants the seeds to the chaos the world is seeing today. The ‘democratic’ flavour attributed to such control, doesn’t lead to free choice and prosperity in the slightest.
No peoples around the world who have lived under the oppression of dictators should be deprived of the right to speak out. Dictators propped up by the supposed champions of democracy themselves – America, Britain and the like. The only way the Western colonialists can control the masses is to re-install dictators such as Sisi of Egypt, whilst turning a blind eye to the crimes of Assad in Syria.
Surprising to some is the rise of populism across Europe and in America. The message is clear that normal people are no longer convinced by the rhetoric and blatant lies of the ruling elite.
The reasons for this may vary, but the feeling is the same – enough is enough. What has emerged may be the face of a right-winged monster, but more importantly, it is a rejection of the norm. Donald Trump may be vilified, but he is simply espousing the same US policy that has been imposed for decades – be that on its own people or those abroad.
The real indictment of capitalism and democracy is that both of these ‘saviours of mankind’ have failed to solve the problems of humanity. This is the reason why people abandon their hopes and walk across continents only to find the borders of the ‘promised land’ closed to them.
Yet they see the blatant hypocrisy when the US interferes in the political affairs of Venezuela. The search for real change within the parameters of the current political system is one which will ultimately fail. All flavours of democracy taste the same – leaving a sour taste in the mouth that is.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ تِبْيَانًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
“And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims).” [An-Nahl: 89]
The Islamic system is represented in a state that will treat citizens as citizens and not scapegoats, put needs before wants, focus on wealth distribution not on hoarding, place the rule of law before political expedience, put compassion and mercy for the very young
and elderly over lust, desire and neglect. An all-rounded system that will organise mans affairs in a cohesive manner.
Take home message:
The West’s propping up of dictators in the Middle East, pillaging lands for resource and failing their own people catastrophically, are why we see wars, protests and terrorism today. The Islamic system looks to serve those under it, not force people to it, ensuring peace and contentment under its rule.
