Dr Imran Waheed and local members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bradford addressed a packed meeting of Bradford Muslims at the Pakistani Community Centre in Bradford on Friday 11th February 2011.
The event, held just hours after Egypt’s President Mubarak resigned, was organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain to discuss the recent uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt.
The event began with a recitation from the Glorious Qur’an. The speakers warned that Muslims must not be fooled by mere cosmetic changes in Egypt and the Muslim world while the corrupt kufr systems remain in place.
They explained that only the Khilafah would bring about the economic transformation and political change demanded by the Ummah after decades of being subjugated to the IMF and World Bank and ruled over by Western backed dictators. They urged the Muslims of Bradford to join the work of Hizb ut-Tahrir to re-establish the Islamic Khilafah and challenge the propaganda against Islam and its systems.
Following the talks there was a lively question and answer session. The event finished with a dua, asking Allah (swt) to unify the Muslims, bring the dignity back to Islam and Muslims and assist the efforts of the Ummah to re-establish the Islamic Khilafah.
