Saturday 29th January 2011 – Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain demonstrated outside The Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London, against Sheikh Hasina, the Awami League Leader and Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
There was a gathering of hundreds of people holding banners and placards, and reciting various chants such as “Down Down Hasina”, “Hasina Government is an Anti-State Mirzafar”, “End democratically elected Hasina’s dictatorial rule and Establish Khilafah”, “Immediately release assistant professor Mohiuddin Ahmed, professor Dr Gulam Maula and Kazi Murshedul Hoque” and others.
The demonstration was held to condemn Sheikh Hasina Government’s function over the last two years. There were a number of speakers who pointed out, the various anti-state, anti-Islamic, anti-people actions taken by Sheikh Hasina’s Government.
The Speakers included: Mujibul Islam, deputy spokesman and Bangla media representative, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain; Liaquot Hussain, member of Bangla committee, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain.
Mujibul Islam in his speech stated that “Sheikh Hasina’s government colluded with India to carry out the cold-blooded killing of over 100 senior army officials, weakened security on the borders with India, permitted transit route through Bangladesh and remains silent over the construction of Tipaimukh dam which will bring human catastrophe to Bangladesh.” He further said “Sheikh Hasina’s government was put in power to serve the interests of the foreign forces such as the US, Britain and India. To this, she has been highly committed; hence her visit to the UK to take orders from her masters. She has allowed execution body, the RAB, to be used by British government to carry out tortures of Britons in Bangladesh, and through operation ‘tiger shark’ she has effectively handed over the Chittagong port to the US Navy.”
Liaquot Hossain concluded with a call for the people to join the campaign to “remove the tyrant Sheikh Hasina’s dictatorial government and work to establish the Islamic Khilafah system, as only the Khilafah can ensure safety and security for the state, people and Islam.”
