Around 120 people attended a community event in Slough on Sunday the 6th of May 2012 organised by local members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir. The event was a continuation of public talks aimed at reminding the local community about the lives of the companions of the Prophet (SAW) and how we should emulate them by basing our personalities on the Islamic ideology alone. The event was attended by a broad section of the community, including many youth, who came to the event even though it was at the same time as the FA Cup final!
Abu Luqman Fathullah delivered the first speech regarding the life of Khalid Ibn Al- Walid and why he is regarded as an inspiration for the Islamic uprising in Syria. Muhammad Gulam Jilani delivered the second talk regarding the responsibility of the Muslims and working for real change.
The event was concluded with dua from a local Imam.
