London, UK, May 2 – The President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, who butchered thousands of innocent civilians in Andijan in May 2005 has arrived in Pakistan at the invitation of President Musharraf, whose hands are similarly stained with the blood of Muslims from Waziristan.
In Uzbekistan, Karimov has spearheaded an ongoing campaign of torture, intimidation and killing against all those who dare to speak out against his corruption, tyranny and unjust practices.
In Pakistan, Musharraf's policies have led to the establishment of US bases in Pakistan, the FBI and CIA being given a free rein across Pakistan, the exchange of information related to Pakistan's nuclear assets and the extensive mobilisation of Pakistan's army in ongoing US operations in Waziristan.
Imran Waheed, a media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, "The visit of Karimov to Pakistan shows the close relationship between the dictators of the Muslim world who are united in silencing political dissent, oppressing their own people and subservience to imperialist foreign powers. The Muslims of Pakistan and Uzbekistan will never bow their heads before these tyrants who have the blood of their own people on their hands. Despite the brutal repression of their people, they have been unable to dampen the yearning for the return of Islam to state and society which grows each day."
"We note that both of these dictators have a warm relationship with western governments – this is proof yet again that talk of freedom and democracy is nothing more than a smokescreen to conceal the true colonial nature of western foreign policy in the Muslim world. Only the Islamic Khilafah can guarantee the security and interests of Pakistan and Uzbekistan and free them from subservience to imperialist foreign powers."
