London UK, 3rd August 2010 – Protestors from across the UK will demonstrate in Birmingham this Saturday [1:30pm 7th August 2010] during Asif Ali Zardari’s UK visit at a time he left behind over 1500 dead and more than 2.5 million displaced as a result of ongoing floods in Pakistan.
Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said, “As thousands die and millions are made homeless, president Asif Zardari chose instead to enjoy a lavish foreign tour of the UK and France, including a gathering of his diehard loyalists to promote his son as his successor in Birmingham.”
“Not only does he show disdain for the suffering of the people of Pakistan at this time, he has chosen to come here despite the slander of the Muslims of Pakistan by war mongering UK prime minister, David Cameron, indicating that he has no problem with Pakistan being further humiliated by the west.”
“The west can count on Zardari’s continued support for the US-UK war of terror in the region despite its destabilising effect on Pakistan, whilst conveniently choosing to ignore the terror unleashed by India in Kashmir or the UK in Afghanistan – or indeed the sponsoring of terror within Pakistan by India and the United States – facilitated by Zardari and the previous regime.”
“Demonstrators will demand the removal of Zardari and his cronies for their betrayal of the people of Pakistan and their unwavering support for the UK and US governments. The time has come for sincere people in Pakistan to re-establish the Islamic Khilafah state to replace these rulers – a government that will have an independent policy, that will not be a slave to the west and which will look after the affairs of the people.”
