London, UK, August 21 2007 – Following the recent series of global conferences and rallies calling for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) spearheaded by Hizb ut-Tahrir, culminating in the Stadium Conference in Jakarta last week, a high level delegation in London today delivered a strong message to the Syrian, Egyptian, Saudi and Pakistan embassies. Members of the delegation were UK Executive Committee member Jamal Harwood and Media Representatives Dr Nazreen Nawaz and Taji Mustafa.
The message states that "Now, after flirting with a mixture of nationalism, socialism, corrupt democracies and tyrannical dictatorships this Ummah yearns for a change, and she yearns for that change via Islam."
It goes on to argue that, "Mere words cannot convey the implication of this one month’s activity by Hizb ut-Tahrir. Yet you need to consider the implications of these events. The tyranny and corruption of the regime you represent will never withstand the desire of the people to fulfil the command of Allah and rule by Islam under the shade of the Khilafah, and their desire to be liberated from occupation, colonialism and exploitation."
It concludes: "Our Islamic political vision represents the future of the Muslim world. Your regimes are a tired and sad attempt to cling to a bitter recent past. So take note of the wind of change that will, by Allah’s leave, end the suffocation of our people."
