London, UK, May 3 2007 – Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, the global Islamic political party, has today delivered a leaflet to the embassies of Muslim countries in London concerning today's Sharm al Sheikh Conference in Egypt regarding the future of Iraq. The leaflet was delivered to the embassies of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon and Iraq.
The leaflet, which will also be widely distributed amongst thinkers, journalists and academics, explains that the Sharm al Sheikh conference is a "sham" that is designed to help "the US out of its current desperate situation" in Iraq. It criticises Muslim countries for not boycotting the conference and calling for a complete end to foreign occupation in the region at a time when "most experts and politicians in Congress realise that the US has lost the war in Iraq".
The leaflet explains how the foreign occupation in the region is the real cause of instability and violence and goes on to expose the "incestuous relationship" between western governments and the dictators and tyrants of the Muslim world.
In the leaflet, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, explains why western governments remain so opposed to the idea of Islam in the form of the Caliphate emerging in the region, despite a recent opinion poll in four major Muslim countries indicating that the majority of people support the return of the Caliphate. Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain explains that the Caliphate "believes in independence from the major corporations, economic rights for the poor and the needy" and has "an alternative vision for the third world that is being economically milked dry by colonial policies."
