Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh organized a seminar today at the Engineering Institution, Dhaka on ‘BDR Conspiracy: Target Bangladesh’. Member of the party Ahmed Jamal Iqbal presided over the meeting while Chief Coordinator and Official Spokesman Mohiuddin Ahmed and Deputy Spokesman Kazi Murshedul Haque delivered speeches. Dr Sheikh Tawfique, Mawlana Mamunur Rashid and Mamunur Rashid Ansari were also present on the panel.
Deputy Spokesman Kazi Murshedul Haque presented an analysis on the nature of the Pilkhana conspiracy in his speech. He also said it has been more than fifty days and no government investigation committee could present their report to the people. Rather the government has repeatedly extended time for report submission and ministers have given confusing statements regarding the incident. Kazi Murshedul said so far no political party has presented their analysis on this issue apart from Hizb ut-Tahrir. Immediately after the incident the party said that it was part of a long term plot which was carried out by India and her agents inside and outside the government. With the passage of time, it has now become clear that the party’s analysis and activities has become a headache for the government. Government has so far arrested 43 members of the party and clamped down on the party’s activities. It proves that the stance of Hizb ut-Tahrir has foiled the government’s plot to bury the issue.
Mohiuddin Ahmed in his speech said that Bangladesh is one of the largest Muslim countries and due to its geographic location Bangladesh has become important in the regional politics. Under the current system political parties reach power through compromise and understanding with the imperialist nations. Then they run the affairs of the people according to the wishes of their masters. The Khilafah government will unite the politically divided Muslim Ummah on the basis of Islam. Taking advantage of the geographical location and providing strong leadership to the unified Ummah, Khilafah government will become a strong state. Mohiuddin Ahmed ended his speech demanding punishment for the conspirators of Pilkhana massacre and release of all members and activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
