Through the media the government conveys death threat to the member of Hizb ut-Tahrir. Hizb ut-Tahrir and its members cannot be intimidated or terrorized by cowardly threats
For the past few days, the government is passing death threats to member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Saad Jagranvi, via various news channels. More than one TV channel has run repots based on information obtained form the government that the government wants to arrest Saad Jagranvi dead or alive. This is the real ugly face of democracy where politicians are thrown in jails or threatened only due to their thoughts and political affiliations. This fact is well known throughout the world that Hizb ut-Tahrir is a political party which has no connection with criminal or militant activities. Its members are fearless political leaders who cannot be subdued by state-oppression or torture. Even today Hizb’s member Jalal Hussain is in Peshawar jail who had been incarcerated for the past many months just because he refused to keep silent and dared to speak the word of truth publicly. Saad Jagranvi belongs to the famous family in Lahore who are attached to the profession of Hikma (Herbal Medicine) and he is also a very active member of Hizb ut-Tahrir. Previously the government had arrested him and confined him for six months when he was participating in "Hurriyat Iraq March" organized by Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2004 and he became even more active after his release. Let the government know that with such cowardly threats they cannot shake the resolve of the Hizb and its members. Furthermore if any harm comes to Saad Jagranvi or any of our members, the sole responsibility would be that of the government. We challenge the government that instead of opposing the Hizb with oppression and coercion they should confront Hizb’s political thought with a better thought. Otherwise, in the interest of the people, they should leave the heavy responsibility of ruling and taking care of the affairs of the people to the sincere political leadership of the Muslim Ummah.
