London, UK, September 5 2008 – The visit of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to meet Gadaffi earlier today is a reward for his decision to join the US led war on Islam, commonly called the war on terrror, and shows that western governments are prepared to support the most odious tyrants provided they do their bidding. Speaking about her visit, Rice said “It’s a very good thing that the United States and Libya are establishing a way forward,”. Earlier, the Libyan tyrant had spoken about her saying “I love her very much. I admire her and I’m proud of her”. The US and Libya are expected to sign a trade and investment deal. They are also negotiating a ‘military memorandum of understanding’ on combating ‘terrorism’.
Commenting on her visit Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, "While Gadaffi presides over a regime that torture’s, oppresses and murders its people, Condoleezza Rice, like the British Prime Minister before her, warmly embraces the butcher of Tripoli. The US and British government’s talk about promoting ‘liberty’, freedom, democracy and human rights contrasts sharply with the reality of their expedient relationships with some of the most oppressive and odious of tyrants. No amount of rhetoric hides the fact that for Capitalist states, befriending tyrants and sacrificing the lives of innocents is a ‘necessary evil’ when it comes to gaining access to the world’s resources or prosecuting their ‘war on terror’."
"In fact the US government and Gadaffi’s brutal regime have a lot in common when it comes to the treatment of Muslims. While torture, detention without trial and extra judicial killings have long been a part of Gadaffi’s brutal rule, Abu Ghraib, the killing of thousands in Iraq and Afghanistan and Guantanamo are now part of the US government’s brutal record.”
"The overwhelming majority of people in the region see the return of the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) system of government in the Muslim world as the means of liberating them from exploitation, oppression, dictatorship and torture. It is their only hope of resisting the tyranny of global capitalism and the continued unholy alliance between western governments and brutal dictators who are working to deny them the political authority to implement this system, an alliance that will inevitably and ultimately fail."
