London, UK, January 4 2009 – Thousands of protestors marched in the heart of London’s Arab community on the “Call on Muslim Armies to defend Gaza” demonstration, organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain as part of the Action for Gaza Campaign.
Protestors joined the growing global call for armies in the Muslim lands to intervene and defend the people of Gaza and liberate Palestine. They called on the armies to overthrow their political leaders to defend Gaza and establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) which would uphold the responsibility to defend the people and liberate land from occupation.
The demonstration also condemned Israel’s terrorism, denounced the rulers of the Muslim world as traitors for their collusion with Israel. It accused the UK government, US and UN of deception of the highest order in justifying the massacre of over 500 people in 1 week with the 17 Israelis killed over 3 years by home made rockets fired by those resisting occupation.
Speakers who addressed the rally in Marble Arch included Hassan al-Hassan (media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain), Moazzem Baig (CAGE Prisoners), Mohamed Ali (Islam Channel), Haji Ismael Haneef al Naqshbandi Hijazi, Reza Kazim (Islamic Human Rights Commission) and Abdul Wahid (Chairman of UK Executive Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain).
The speakers addressed many issues including the duty on the Muslim armies to move; the treachery of the Arab-Muslim rulers against their own people and their subservience to western nations interests; the need to work for the Islamic Khilafah; the use of brutal collective punishment against the civilian population of Gaza;the use of the so-called ‘peace process’ to legalise the status of areas of Palestine stolen by Israel, and the need for the murderous racist Zionist political entity to be abolished before peace could exist in the region which only existed when the Khilafah (Caliphate) ruled over the region with justice, when Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony side by side.
The demonstration was covered by Al Jazeera and other news outlets.
