Hizb ut-Tahrir Syria addresses people rising against Assad

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

And Whoever Is Blind In This World, Will Be Blind In The Hereafter, And Further Astray From The Path

In a recorded interview on Syrian state television, Bashar Asad proved once again that he is blind in this life, and further astray from the Path. He did not appear in front of us like the head of a state subject to a fierce Western attack, as he claims. According to the claims of his biography, he is an ophthalmologist, but (as the poet said):

Say to the Doctor who has been seized by the hand of the Blind,      O you ignorant of medicine, who has blinded you?

This president, who inherited power from his father, is blind in three matters:

Firstly: On the day that he inherited power from his father, Bashar did not see that this people contain real men, nor did he see – on the day that both the grey-haired and the youthful launched the uprising – that there are in the people real men. He sent his security goons against them, and he killed thousands and imprisoned tens of thousands. He threw his army into suppressing the people and exterminating the “bacteria”. He killed the officers and soldiers who refused his criminal orders, while lying that he was halting weapons smuggling gangs who were killing people. However, the people of Syria – young, elderly, women and children – despite Asad and those pushing him further in misguidance, are the grandchildren of Khalid bin Waleed. They have taken oaths that they will not retreat until the regime has fallen. They chant the takbeers and the kalimah every Jumu’ah, indeed every day and after every salah, announcing clearly, “we do not bow to any except Allah.” So is there any sensible man among Asad’s cronies who will pass on to him the people’s chants, and translate their words for him?

Allah ta’ala says “Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah? Then will you not be reminded?” (TMQ Al Jathiya 45:23)

Secondly: Bashar did not see what happened to his predecessors Ben Ali (of Tunisia) and Mubarak (of Egypt), what befell Mu’ammar (of Libya) and what will befall Salih (of Yemen). The West (America and Europe) do not give any value to their agents once they have reached the end of their usefulness, if they are no longer capable of serving them and protecting their interests. How strange it is that al-Asad, when he is asked to leave power, responds that this statement does not bother him or hold any value, since he is “a president elected by the people”.

We say to him, “Listen to the answer of the people, who by tradition do not insult the dead, but now every day curse the soul of your father, curse you, and call for your downfall and trial for your crimes. Indeed the people of Syria are held hostage by your regime, which America protects. America is the one who appointed you as a ruler after your father, and supported you as she did with your father. America gave you more than five months to succeed in putting out the fire of revolution in the youth of your people, who are hostages of your regime, while the Israelis bless it and feel tranquil towards it.

Thirdly: When President Asad talks of achieving security and economic recovery, he is lying, fabricating and feigning blindness (towards the reality). As for his security forces, thugs and sections of his army, they are destroying the towns night and day, spreading fear and death everywhere. As the injured lay in hospital they suffer kidnap and assassination, and even the women and children face the ugliest forms of aggression; so what are these security achievements of which he speaks?! If he means his control of the towns with tanks and troops, and covering the mouths (of protestors), he has failed completely in this regard.

As for the economy, the queues of cars at the petrol stations answer his claims. The paralysis in every sector of economic life bears witness to this ‘economic recovery’, in which everything is turned upside down. His version of ‘economic recovery’ means more pressure on the people just to get a loaf of bread and for workers to meet living costs. He thinks that he can lead the people in this situation and they will be calm and submissive – how far, far away he is from that. The people did not rebel because of their high living standards; they came out to regain their dignity by deposing him.

In conclusion we say:

O President, dawn has broken the darkness of night, while you have lied and delayed, and will soon fall. If you do not see or understand, we give glad tidings of the day soon in which you will wish to flee like Ben Ali. This Ummah has shaken off humiliation and submission, and has made an oath not to turn back until you fall and your regime has been removed.

O Muslims in Syria:

How many times has this regime lied to you and deceived you? Your voices and cries have exposed it after speeches and interviews. Today we want a new response from you, which will make Asad, and those who teach and guide him, forget the whispers of Shaytan. Announce, along with Hizb ut-Tahrir, that real change in Syria requires the downfall of the tyrant Bashar and his regime, freeing the pure land of Ash-Sham from enemy control and establishing the Khilafah upon the methodology of Prophethood. The Ummah will regain her life and her ’Izzah and honourable life will be restored. Indeed, follow the path of your Lord, and He will be pleased with you, Grant you victory and make your foothold firm.

O Officers and Soldiers:

Is it not time for you to take hold of the hands of the oppressor and stop his crimes? Is it not time for you to realise the Anger of Allah is upon for your silence towards the tyrant Bashar, who has thrown you in the face of your Ummah, and who uses you to protect his throne, while turning you away from the Golan Heights? Hizb ut-Tahrir calls on you to support (the cause of) Allah, by establishing His rule in the earth, the Khilafah Rashidah upon the methodology of Prophethood.

Allah ta’ala says:

And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things. (TMQ At-Talaq 65:3)
