Hizb ut-Tahrir’s message to people in Libya on the killing of Gadaffi

On the day Moammar Gadaffi was killed, Hizb ut-Tahrir addressed the brave people of Libya.

The message mentioned the following points:

It started by mentioning how the tyrant Gadaffi died in the most shameful way after he destroyed the land of Libya for forty years. As Allah (swt) reminds us

“So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the hereafter, if they only knew” [TMQ Az-Zumar 39:26].

It mentions Assad and his tyrannical brother in Yemen and questions whether they are blind to the humiliation of Gadaffi or fail to realise that those who were more powerful than them have also been destroyed.

It addresses the ummah saying “O people of Libya, O Muslims” and recalls the many who were tortured, died and languished in the prison during the rule of Gadaffi. It gives glad tidings to the martyrs of Hizb ut-Tahrir who were brutally murdered by Gaddafi when they spoke the word of truth to his face. It gives glad tidings to the martyrs of the Muslims killed by Gadaffi in the dungeons and prisons. It gives glad tidings to “our people in Libya, the Muslims all over the world and the revolutionaries standing against oppressive tyrants everywhere.”

It addresses the people of Libya and the Muslims and says that in killing Gadaffi “you have made a new covenant with Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw) so thank Him (swt) and praise Him (swt) as He should be praised” and warns them against letting the colonialists, and their agents, have a way over their affairs. It warns that failure to do so would betray the pure blood that was spilt and the sacrifices that were made in the land of the mujahideen that protected the Qur’an.

Hizb ut-Tahrir then asks the people of Libya to establish the Islamic state, the Khilafah rashidah, so that they will be happy and successful in this life and the next reminding them that “that is the great success”. It warned them not to be fooled by the slogans of the colonialists and their agents who call for ruling by the laws of man – instead of the laws of the Lord of man – under the pretext of democracy, civilised behaviour and secularism and said “If you did that you will be losers”. It said that the colonialists show you their mercy behind which they hide their poison! “You do not need their help” and reminded them that Allah (swt) has blessed Libya with abundant wealth “so be with Allah and fear Him”.

It concluded by saying “Hizb ut-Tahrir is from you and with you” and urges them to seek success under the shade of the Khilafah, under the flag of La illaha illallah Muhamadur rasul Allah, so that they may also have success under the shade of Allah (swt) in the hereafter, on the day when there will be no shade except His shade. It concluded by reminding them of the test they now face, quoting the ayah:

قَالَ عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

“He said: ”It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors in the earth; so that He may see how you conduct yourselves.” [TMQ Al Araf 7:129]
