Calls for ‘normalisation’ and ‘peace’ with the occupiers of Muslims lands and Kashmir is no exception, rather it is the political norm. The recent incident between India and Pakistan is a case in hand where the Pakistan government is bending over backwards for normalisation and peace talks with India, which are tantamount to the surrender and betrayal of Kashmir.
It is a matter of principle that all Muslim lands must be liberated no matter how difficult or long it takes. Anything short of this is a crime and disgrace. Abandoning your principle for pragmatic consideration is weakness and nothing but a path to humiliation and disgrace. When the Quraysh broke the treaty of Hudaibiya, Abu Sufyan, one of the leaders of Quraysh, pleaded with Umar Bin Khattab (r.a) to ask the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) not to conquer Makkah. Umar (r.a) responded by saying: “Should I intercede for you with the Messenger of Allah? By Allah, if I had only an ant I would fight you with it.”, demonstrating his resoluteness and firmness against the enemies of Islam.
When we talk about the liberation of Muslim lands, this is not just unrealistic zeal, crazy talk or putting the Muslims in danger without taking precaution. We are not all military planners or strategists, but we have many in this Ummah and it is part of their job to plan and come up with war strategies and plans to liberate Muslim lands. Our job is to account the Muslim leadership if they are not fulfilling their responsibilities.
The life of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the Khulafah Al Rashidun are a model example of how leaders prepare, plan and lead armies in protecting the interest of Islam and Muslims.
Allah (ﷻ) said:
“And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah’s way, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be dealt with unjustly.” [Al-Anfal : 60]
The Prophet (ﷺ) and the companions prepared for the battle of Badr by taking up the strategic position by the water well, prepared for the battle of Uhud be deciding to fight outside of Medinah rather than inside abd prepared for the battle of the trench be digging a trench outside of Madinah to keep the enemy at bay.
Past and present Pakistan governments (civilian/military) have completely abandoned the aim of the liberation of Kashmir, instead, they plan for the normalisation and surrender of Kashmir rather than adopting the policy of liberating Kashmir.
Allah (ﷻ) said:
“And if they had intended to go forth, they would certainly have provided equipment for it, but Allah did not like their going forth, so He withheld them, and it was said (to them): Hold back with those who hold back.” [At-Tawbah : 46]
