The Stunning Hyprocrisy of Trump’s Speech

President Trump has made his keynote speech to more than 40 leaders of Muslim nations in Saudi Arabia. The speech took place a day after he received a warm welcome and signed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

President Donald Trump defined the battle against terrorist groups as a “battle between good and evil.”

“This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects or different civilizations,” Trump said. “This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it. This is a battle between good and evil.”

Trump spoke out against “Islamist extremism” and “Islamic terror”.

“Every time a terrorist murders an innocent person, and falsely invokes the name of God, it should be an insult to every person of faith,” Trump said. “That means honestly confronting the crisis of Islamist extremism and the Islamist terror groups it inspires.”

Trump called on leaders of Muslim nations to “drive out” terrorists from their societies and countries.

“Drive them out,” Trump said. “Drive them out of your places of worship … drive them out of your holy land. Drive them out of this earth.”

He said that Middle Eastern countries “cannot wait for American power,” but must instead “decide what kind of future they want for themselves, for their countries, and for their children.”

Trump said he hopes to assemble “a coalition of nations who share the aim of stamping out extremism.”. This will be ‘co chaired’ between the US and Saudi Arabia.

This was a speech laced with stunning hypocrisy.  It is the US that has caused untold misery to the Muslim world by dropping on it the worst weapons humans have developed. The US is the one who sustains the corrupt rulers who sat listening to Trump’s speech like children in a classroom.

Leaders listening included President Sisi of Egypt, who is no stranger to ‘terror ‘ as he has caused domestic terror everyday since he came to power. Middle East rulers are the ones that violently quelled protests in the ‘Arab Spring’ that killed tens of thousands of people who wanted change. There was absolutely no discussion of ‘good and evil’ towards their rule and actions by Trump, rather all was directed towards what more they needed to do in relation to controlling their societies.

It is the USA that has left the Muslim world in tatters by waging wars in Iraq,  Afghanistan and leaving Syria in chaos by sustaining Bashar al Assad as President.  It is the USA that has murdered millions of innocent men, women and children in the Muslim world, but it does not and will not recognise this.

The ‘coalition of nations’ which Trump announced today is nothing new. There has been a coalition of treacherous countries since the birth of the Muslim countries. They were carved up first by the British and now being carved up further by America. This coalition has existed for decades, that has oppressed Muslims in their lands and allowed the US to stamp its authority in every aspect of life.

Trumps speech was an example of how the US treats the Muslim world. Dictating its direction, robbing its wealth and solidifying the rulers who it has placed there.

Saudi Arabia is not the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. It is like the rest of the Muslim rulers,  the Protector of America in the Middle East.

“And when it is said to them: “Make not mischief on the earth,” they say: “We are only peacemakers.” Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not” {Al-Baqarah: 11-12}
